Covid-19 GUIDELINES

Dance Depot LP
COVID-19 Guidelines

Summary:
This document is intended to provide guidance for our staff, students, and families for the 2022-2023 Dance Season. This document may be amended at any time to meet the needs of Dance Depot LP (DD), or in the event of mandates made by local, state, or federal jurisdictions. Our goal is to maximize safety for our students and staff so we can continue to provide in person, on-site training for our students for the 202-2023 Dance Season.

ACCEPTING DD WAIVERS:
LOG-IN to your DD account to review and accept DD waivers.

Health and Safety Measures:
The ability for DD to remain open is heavily dependent on how parents and families partner with us.  In order to continue offering on-site, in-person dance classes, we MUST have parents participating with us in these measures: If your child is sick or has any Covid-19 symptoms DO NOT send them to class. This will prevent the quarantine of others in the event that a positive test becomes known.

DD promotes personal responsibility when it comes to health and safety.  Those with a pre-existing medical condition, that makes them particularly vulnerable to COVID-19, need to assess the risk as a family during this pandemic.

We desire to create the least restrictive environment possible for our teachers and students. Each family can make the decision for their student regarding the wearing of a mask, but it will not be required.   This includes all students, parents, teachers and staff.  The decision is up to you!

Everyone who comes to DD is required to conduct a self-assessment prior to entering the building. The CDC has a self-assessment tool https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/coronavirus-self-checker.html for your use.
  • Due to the potential of exposure to COVID-19 that we all face in the community, please continue to monitor your student for symptoms and keep them home if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms: fever or chills, Cough, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.  If your child develops symptoms consistent with COVID-19, contact your healthcare provider. Your healthcare provider will determine if your child needs a COVID-19 test.
All those entering the building will be required to wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer on a regular basis.  Families are welcome to use our indoor waiting areas for viewing only.  When taking up space inside, we ask that you be mindful of those around you. To avoid over-crowding please utilize outdoor spaces whenever practical.  All classes will be conducted using creative “classroom” settings to keep groups limited to size so distancing can be addressed to the best of our ability. Face masks are not required but can be worn during any dance class.  Students are encourages to bring a reusable water bottle to class. Students and staff are discouraged from using standard water fountains or sharing drinks and/or food with others.

Cleaning:
High-touch areas (e.g., dance bares, doorknobs, bathrooms) will be cleaned before classes start and at the end of each day. All props used in the classrooms will be regularly cleaned and sanitized before being used.  Students should keep their belongings in a dance bag outside the classroom (using cubicles, hooks in the dressing room or with a parent) to keep clear of all walkways.  Bathrooms should never be used as a dressing room. To avoid using the dressing room for changing, come to the studio already dressed like a dancer.

Symptoms or Exposure:
It is recommended that any person who has traveled out of the country or to a Covid-19 “hot spot” self-quarantine for no less than 10 days with no symptoms appearing prior to returning to dance class.

In order for a student/staff who tested positive for COVID-19 to be allowed to return to dance they must be able to answer YES to the following questions:
  • Has it been at least 24 hours since the individual had a fever (without using fever-reducing medicine)?
  • Has it been at least 5 days since the individual first had symptoms?
  • Are your symptoms improving?
  • A fully vaccinated student/staff is not required to quarantine provided they are free from COVID-19 symptoms.

Parent/Student Commitment
Parents and family members play an important role in teaching our students about personal responsibility in all aspects of life and specifically in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the effort to keep Dance Depot students and staff safe and open for the 2022-2023 Dance Season, we agree to:
  1. Support the DDS Guidelines
  2. Explain to our children that hand washing and social distancing can keep them healthy and can help stop the virus from spreading to others.
  3. Perform daily health evaluations and take everyone’s temperature routinely before coming to dance class.
  4. If your child is sick or has any Covid-19 symptoms DO NOT send them to class.
